upload yields newly created site without images

I've followed all available tutorials. Here are the basics; - Microsoft publisher - WS_FTP - POWWEB.com is my host Upload was successful except there are no .jpegs or .gifs on the site. When I preview the site using local browser window everything is there. I believe I have a scripting problem.
